It’s a Chicksinger, Las Vegas #foodie #review! What a wonderful weekend it has been for us! Halloween was a bit different for us this year as I had a gig and Den was able to take off a night of work to be on deck for the Little Man. Our neighborhood puts together a “safe street” and off the boys went for tricks and treats and fun while I was off to perform in a murder mystery! Perfect for a Halloween night!
Saturday night, Gramma requested a sleep over with the Little Man, so date night it would be! We decided to head out to the strip and do what locals rarely do…hang on the strip! We checked out a piano bar I’ve been wanting to see and then decided to see if we could possibly find a seat at the newest and one of the most popular places in town, Giada Las Vegas at the Cromwell. Not only did we score seats at the bar, we had an amazing dinner! The food is positively spectacular and the service even better. Den had the veal, I had the Rigatoni Vegetable Bolognese, we shared a romaine salad (which they split for us) and the bread basket divine. I drank a lovely glass of Talbot Chardonnay (lightly buttery and oakey) and Den drank the Boulevard bourbon cocktail with one giant ice cube! We had a dessert sampler that was out of this world! See for yourself…
We ended our night at the Dispensary Lounge listening to friend and fellow singer, Michelle Johnson and the Uli Geissendoerfer Trio. Jen, the cocktail waitress is the best and you can see lots of local celebs simply show up and hang out and maybe even sing!
We enjoyed our extra hour of sleep, and I got up to teach a piano lesson in my Chicksinger Studios and then it was off for brunch with friends! But not just any brunch…the Sterling Brunch at Bally’s! I have wanted to go since we moved here 14 years ago! It all began over 30 years ago and it was NOT for just anyone. You had to be invited to dine at the Sterling Brunch and the only way to be invited was to be the type of gambler who would drop thousands of dollars at the tables.
Fast forward some years and it was turned into a super fine dining Sunday Brunch extravaganza! The Perrier Jouet champagne is free flowing! Seriously, my glass was never let to get past about half way. The menu is beautiful with a “from the kitchen” side and the “serve yourself” side.
We started with 2 plates of caviar and a tuna tartare for the table and lobster bisque. OH MY. Beyond. No, seriously.
Then I ordered Lobster Benedict while I went to the main line, where I chose the following:
Once again, the service was absolutely spot on. So impressive in a place as busy as this. You can find the Sterling Brunch at BLT Steakhouse at Ballys Las Vegas. Get yourselves out there and enjoy the lovely food of Las Vegas!
