So it’s a balmy 101 degrees at 1015am and the high is going to be an easy-breezy 113…
yup, it’s the desert and there’s no getting around Mother Nature! There have been quite a few addresses in my life, in many states and I’ve learned to embrace and enjoy as the alternative just doesn’t make sense to my generally (hey nobody’s perfect!) happy-peppy attitude! And now, it’s time for my Summer recommendations, part 1!
Summer is usually my slower season for students and gigs, but this summer is busier than ever! Gratitude abounds! I find that simply by staying flexible and focused on my business, things have continued to move forward. Here’s a fun pic from the event I did last weekend…Sharon (left) played my wild and ditzy sister and Jen (my bestie!) played the event planner. We had so much fun!
My first recommendation is a biz coach and I’ve mentioned her many times…you know it! The fabulous Coach Glitter! Up on her blog are tons of fashion tips, make up tutorials and her Facebook Lives are incredible! She is witty and fun and a loving booty-kicker! Her words, lol! She will inspire you and fire you up and help you take your biz to the next level. Get on her waitlist for the next Lights, Camera, Branding! class. You will thank yourself and your biz! I’m a lifer and have on my list to get into her MasterMind Group someday…
Next up is a client-turned-friend, event planner and total sweetheart, Dustin Rains! Come on with a name like that you know things are gonna be fab! I met Dustin when he hired me to play and sing for his Christmas/Birthday/Charity event. Instead of birthday gifts, he asked his guests to donate to his favorite cause. I mean SERIOUSLY!! He has been designing events for family and friends for quite a while and has finally taken his biz to the public…lucky us! His ideas and swag is off the charts! Next event I have, I WILL be calling Dustin! You can find him at EveryLastDetailByDustin.com, and be sure to check out his IG page! Pretty pics galore! Not to mention one of the nicest guys I have ever met.
This is a brick and mortar recommendation, and is for my SoCal friends. Center Stage Theater in Fontana, California is not only run by my dearest bestie and her hubby, it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Todd and Jennifer Vigiletti of Stargazer Productions and Events produce the shows and events at Center Stage Theater and Queen Mary and all around the SoCal and surrounding areas. Center Stage does book shows, musical revues, special events and weddings. They serve yummy food and have a full bar with their shows. It makes for a total night out of fun and frolic. They have some great shows coming up and Christmas Show tickets are already selling fast!
For my Vegas peeps in need of convention or special event entertainment, A Touch of Mystery and More Entertainment Group is a fantastic full service entertainment event company, with things like murder mysterys, scavenger hunts, convention entertainment, emcees, full production shows and more! I work for the founder, Jay Joseph, in several capacities, both behind the scenes and on his roster as an actress and performer. Jay is fabulous to work with from the client stand point and the actors view. I just did an out-of-town murder mystery event and had a total ball. I made some new friends and connected with old ones.
Coming up next week, I’ll be recommending and sharing my current reading list and podcast list. My goal is to read 25 books this year and I am crazy for podcasts! Aaaaand, SSSHHH I’ll be debuting my own podcast VERY SOON! Wait, what?! I know it’s super exciting. I’ll be sharing voice tips, music biz tips, interviews and collaborating with one of Vegas’ most popular singers! She’s brilliant, talented and one of my closest friends, you won’t want to miss it!
It’s not all work and practice for this chicksinger. I love crafty things (Michaels is my home away from home!) and my son and hubby are totally artistic. This week, we started a rock painting project that one of my neighbors got us going on. We paint messages or designs on the rocks and then place them around our ‘hood. Then people find them and get an instant lift! We decided to do a few for our yard and this afternoon, we are headed over to the hubby’s brother’s house to paint with Auntie and Grammie. I’ll be posting those on my IG account so be sure to follow me over there!
I’m so glad you stopped by! Take a peek at my other posts, I have lots of good stuff in there about vocal care, practice tips and of course, my viewpoints from a chicksinger! I’m off to clean the house and practice, so get out there and do your thing and have a beautiful Friday!
You can find me at KarenMichaelsMusic.com for bookings. I’d love to play for your special event, cocktail party, cruise ship, restaurant or wherever you need beautiful music! If you need voice and/or piano lessons, head on over to my Facebook page for lessons and drop me a line there! In fact, let’s be online friends at Las Vegas Chicksinger in all these places! Read my reviews and testimonials, Like me on Facebook, I do live videos there at least once a week, and talk about my pursuit of love, happiness and music.
